The Diapering Truth
Did you know that human infants are born with reflexes and abilities (often with a preference) to pee and poo outside of a diaper? It's true! Babies instinctively avoid soiling themselves, but the continuous use of diapers within just a few months can reshape their preferences. This is what our species has done for time immemorial, long before super-absorbent gel disposables and waste-water systems were in place to help humans manage cleaning and caring for cloth diapers.
I practiced Elimination Communication with both of my sons from the time they were newborns, and also hosted NYC’s only E.C. support group for families who were curious or practicing. I’m familiar with all the questions, how-to tutorials, tips, tricks, and creative solutions that families need to make E.C work!
Both of my kids were out of diapers all together by 18 months (which is closer to the global norm) and we turned a part of parenting that is usually disliked (diapering, waste and potty training) into something that we actually enjoyed. Fun Fact: E.C. typically does NOT mean using zero diapers. It’s less about “where the poo and pee goes”, but rather a practice of mindfully tuning into and respecting your baby’s potty needs.
E.C. is a free, easy and fun way to help you and your child develop a language around pottying that promotes trust, independence and eliminate the need for (so many) diapers and traditional potty training.

I bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to the table. Having personally used and laundered every type of diaper in various situations throughout New York City, I've taught monthly Cloth Diapering classes and assisted countless families in navigating their diapering choices. Moreover, I've practiced E.C. with both of my own children since birth and hosted NYC's only Elimination Communication meetup and information sessions for families at my former store, Wild Was Mama.

I'll also provide valuable resources for purchasing, laundering, or utilizing diapering services.

Virtual Cloth Diapering/EC Consultations
Elimination Communication consultations are held virtually, and last 90 minutes. Together, I walk you through all you need to know about EC, including how it works, how and when to practice with your baby, troubleshooting issues that come up along the way, and items to have on hand to make the process easier and more enjoyable.
